History: the Anglo Saxons

Year 5 have really enjoyed our history topic this half term: the Anglo Saxons.

This week, we began to look at Saxon Warfare and the impact this had on the Anglo-Saxon society. We looked at a range of primary sources which helped us to understand what weaponry they would have had in this time. As a class we also discussed specific formations the Anglo-Saxons would use when going into war.

In our small groups we used multilink to create what the formation would look like when going into fight.

We were also treated to a surprise visit from Mrs Croucher and we were all excited to meet baby Archer!
