History: the Anglo Saxons
This week we had our final History lesson on the Anglo Saxons.
We travelled back to 1066, when three contenders were competing for the throne following the death of Edward the Confessor.
We looked at the Bayeux Tapestry and discussed how reliable it is as a source of information about the fall of the Anglo-Saxons.
In groups we were given a panel from the Bayeux Tapestry. We used observational skills to decipher what could be happening in each scene and then ordered the panels as a class.
In order to help us to really go back in time, each group used their section to help them perform a freeze-frame of the Tapestry. We had a lot of fun discussing roles of each other to fit in with the pictures.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Miss Jones
