Literacy: Information text about the Vikings

This week in Literacy, we have been researching and planning our own information texts about the Vikings. Our aim was to persuade the reader that Vikings were not just raiders and invaders, but also skilled traders, settlers and explorers.

Using the knowledge, we have gained in our history lessons, alongside further research on the laptops, the children created their own subheadings and gathered information independently. They then used their research to plan, design and write their own information texts before producing their final pieces.

It has been wonderful to see the children's enthusiasm for this topic. Their engagement and curiosity have helped them produce some fantastic pieces of writing, and they should be very proud of their efforts.
