January 30th - Party on!
Last Friday, we took part in Break the Rules Day to raise money for FTW. We were so excited to see everyone’s crazy clothes, hair, and nails. We even got to bring toys into school too!
In Literacy, we finished our learning about instructions by making Gruffalo Crumble. We had a party to celebrate our learning and played party games together. It was so much fun and helped make our Literacy learning relatable and meaningful.
We have now moved on to our new class text, Stanley’s Stick — a brilliant adventure story about a boy, his imagination, and of course, his stick! The children have already enjoyed exploring how Stanley’s stick can become many different things through imaginative play. We are really looking forward to reading more about Stanley’s (and his stick’s!) adventures next week.
In music, we have been learning the song In the Groove and exploring it in a range of different genres. This week, we listened to the Baroque version, which we really enjoyed. The classical sound of the music was new to many of us, but we had a great time listening to the different instruments and discussing which instruments would have been played in the 1700s.
Next Friday is NSPCC Number Day. Please look out for more information on the poster on our classroom door.
