Friday 18th September - Super fun learning!

What a busy and exciting week we have had in Year 4! The children have been working hard, sharing their ideas and showing lots of enthusiasm across all of our subjects.
🔬 Science – States of Matter
This week, we kick-started our new Science unit all about states of matter. We began by exploring solids and liquids and investigated some of their different properties. The children particularly enjoyed putting their knowledge to the test during a fun guessing game, where they had to identify materials based on their properties. We are looking forward to finding out more about solids, liquids and gases as our learning continues!
🏐 PE – Netball Skills
In PE, we continued developing our netball skills, with a particular focus on pivoting and two-stepping. The children have been practising their footwork and learning how to use these skills effectively during a game. Pivoting can be quite a tricky move to master, so this is something we will continue to practise and develop over the coming weeks.
📚 Literacy – The King Who Banned the Dark
We also began our exciting new Literacy unit based on The King Who Banned the Dark. The children have already been thinking deeply about the story and enjoyed having the opportunity to debate whether banning the dark should actually be a thing! This led to some very interesting discussions, with children forming their own opinions and giving reasons to support their ideas. It was fantastic to hear everyone sharing different perspectives and listening respectfully to one another.
Well done, Year 4, for another fantastic week! I am so proud of the enthusiasm, curiosity and hard work you have shown. 🌟
Have a lovely weekend all,
Mrs Clewley
