24th October - happy half term!
What a busy and exciting week it has been in Year 1!
In History, we’ve been exploring the topic of toys from the past and present. The children enjoyed sorting a variety of toys into groups based on whether they were played with by our grandparents, parents, or ourselves today. It sparked lots of interesting conversations and comparisons! We’re all looking forward to next half term when we’ll be welcoming some special history visitors to school. We'll have the exciting opportunity to get hands-on with real toys from the past – we can't wait!
In Music, we’ve been having fun with our unit based on the song ‘Hey You’. Inspired by it, we worked together to create our own rap, including an original chorus that the whole class helped to write. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved and performing with such enthusiasm!
A big thank you to all our families for attending Parents' Evening this week – your continued support and the hard work you do at home really is appreciated. It makes a big difference to the children's learning and progress.
We hope you all have a fun, relaxing, and well-deserved half term break!
