Year 2’s Colourful Art Week! 🎨

What a fantastic week it has been in Year 2! This week, our classroom has been bursting with colour, creativity, and imagination as we celebrated Art Week.

We have been exploring painting techniques and learning all about primary and secondary colours. The children created their very own colour wheels and colour strips, experimenting with mixing paints and discovering the beautiful new colours they could make.

Our inspiration this week came from two wonderful artists — Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky. The children loved learning about their unique styles and have produced some stunning abstract artwork inspired by their pieces. I have been so impressed by their creativity, focus, and enthusiasm!

It was also such a pleasure to meet you all during Parents’ Evening this week. Talking about how well your children have settled into Year 2 and how much progress they’ve made was a real joy.

As we come to the end of our first half term together, I want to say how proud I am of every child in Year 2. I hope you all have a wonderful, restful half term break, and I’m already looking forward to more learning, fun, and creativity when we return!
