20th March - Spring has sprung!

This week in Year 1, we focused on how achieving our goals can sometimes be challenging. We talked about how it’s important to keep trying and not give up, even when things don’t go right the first time. Miss Battams challenged us to make a “stretchy” flower independently. The “stretchy” part meant bouncing back and trying again if something didn’t work. We showed great resilience and determination!
At the start of the week, we were treated to a Rock Steady concert. It was wonderful to see so many members of our class showing off their new learning by singing and playing the keyboard. Well done, everyone!
In PE, we have started learning about teamwork. We played team games to help develop our communication skills, including a game called “Rob the Nest.” Teams collected objects from the middle and placed them in their own ‘nest’ (a hoop). Once the middle was empty, we then had to ‘rob’ from other teams’ nests. We had to decide who would protect the nest and who would collect more objects for the team.
We are looking forward to our Sponsored Move next week. Please remember to check the sponsorship forms that were sent home at the start of the week, as we raise money for our school.
