1st May - Friction finders
In our Year 3 science lesson this week, we continued our learning about forces and magnets by focusing on friction. We learned that friction is a force that slows objects down when they move across a surface, and we discussed how different surfaces create different amounts of friction. To explore this, we carried out an investigation using small toy cars, rolling them across a variety of surfaces such as grass, a metal sink, a nylon bag, a wooden table, and a plastic tray. We observed how far the cars travelled on each surface and used this to help us understand which surfaces had more or less friction. It was an interesting and hands-on lesson that helped us see how friction works in real life.

I hope you all have a wonderful long, sunny weekend.
I will see you all on Tuesday!
