13th March - Persuasive speeches

In Year 3, we are exploring persuasive speeches and learned how to make our ideas powerful and engaging. We looked at the key features of a speech, including a clear message, strong opening, and memorable ending, and studied examples to understand how speakers persuade their audience. We practised using alliteration to make our words more interesting and learned how to engage our listeners by using expression, eye contact, and confident voices. As part of our learning, we worked in groups to read aloud one of Greta Thunberg’s inspirational speeches, which helped us practise speaking clearly and confidently while understanding how important passion and delivery are in persuading an audience.

 Have a great weekend.
