12th June - Predators and plants!
Year 1 had a fantastic day at Hertfordshire Zoo this week! The children were excited to explore the zoo and learn about a variety of amazing animals from around the world.
During our visit, we saw many different animals, including lions, tigers, zebras, monkeys, and meerkats. The children enjoyed observing the animals closely and discussing their habitats, diets, and special features. We were very impressed with the excellent listening and behaviour shown throughout the day.
We would like to thank all of our parent volunteers who helped make the trip such a success. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, exploration, and lots of smiles!
This week in our Science learning, we learnt about wild plants and garden plants. As we walked around the school grounds, the children looked carefully at the different plants growing. They identified a range of garden plants that had been planted as well as wild plants growing naturally around school.
The children enjoyed comparing the plants they found and discussing their similarities and differences. They used their observation skills to identify features such as leaves, flowers, stems, and roots, helping them to develop their understanding of plants in the world around them.
