As part of our Science unit learning about the circulatory system, we dissected pig hearts this week! We looked for parts of the heart that take blood and pump it to the lungs and the rest of the body. We all were interested in how rubbery and tough the heart was. We found the atrium and ventricles (the parts inside the heart that receive and send out the blood) as well as the main blood vessels to and from the heart.

In Maths, we have been working on division and have just started learning the formal written method for long division. We will return to this next week to consolidate our learning with practice, then apply the method to solving problems.

In Literacy, we created our own African country, using everything we have learnt about the continent through our key text Africa, Amazing Africa! We have finished writing a non-chronological report about our country and used the writing skills we have learnt: modal verbs, persuasive language, a wide range of sentence openers and expanded noun phrases for description.

Next week: Art Week and parent consultations.

Have a great weekend!
