Today we joined with 1000 other schools across the country for a live Remembrance Day assembly with the British Legion, which was very moving and informative.

Our week began with a visit to the Amaravati monastery. We found out about what it is like to live in a Buddhist religious community. We were shown round by one of the monks called Chitta, who used to be a pupil at Two Waters primary school many years ago! We took part in a meditation session in their beautiful temple, which was very calming and peaceful. This visit will help us reflect on what it means to be part of a community for our RE and PSHE learning.

In Literacy, we have been working hard to develop our descriptive sentences, by adding prepositional phrases and relative clauses so that the reader can build a vivid picture in their mind of the setting and characters. Powerful description and carefully chosen words will help us create a powerful atmosphere for our suspense stories.

In Maths, we have been learning to find common factors, common multiples, prime numbers, square numbers and cube numbers. All these depend on a strong knowledge of times tables, so do make sure you are practising regularly on Times Table Rockstars.

Finally, a quick reminder to read every day and log your reading onto Boom Reader.

Coming up next week: on Wednesday, we will be taking part in an electricity workshop run by Mrs Ruocco to launch our Science unit about electricity.
