We made great progress in our skiing this week (see photos below). We learnt how to slow down and turn. Everyone showed great determination despite the occasional fall!
Rehearsals for our production of Midsummer Night’s Dream have gone well this week and I have been so impressed with how the children are all learning their lines and getting into character.
Coming up: make sure you arrive at school 2.45pm this Sunday with your luggage ready to set off for PGL!
We have begun rehearsals for our performance of Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare! We began by getting to know the story by using an adapted animated version by BBC Teach. As we watched, we paused to discuss the characters, the setting and the themes. We then made freeze frames, soundscapes and character statues to start to explore the world of the play.

We also learnt about how important saving money is, and that you can start saving “penny by penny, pound by pound”. We also watched how a machine makes debit cards.
We also visited the vault and had to guess which safety deposit box had a secret stash of lollies!
I just wanted to say a massive well done to all the children in year 6 for all their hard work this week. Every one of them did their very best and should feel proud of their effort and resilience. They have also been supportive towards each other and helped each other through a busy week.
We have quite a few exciting things coming up for year 6, so this is a reminder about what is ahead of us.
Next week the children will take part in four sessions led by Metro Bank. As part of their financial education programme the children ...
