Friday 10th June

Firstly, I just wanted to say I hope you had a lovely half term and you had some time to enjoy all the celebrations of the Platinum Jubilee, and to enjoy the little bit of sun that we had.

We have had a great first week settling back into our crazy year 5 routine, and the children have responded really well to all of the work that has been set. We have finally finished our fraction unit in maths and I am so proud of the growth mind-set that they have all displayed when shown challenging problem solving questions. We now move on to our new unit on percentages and decimals, and I have no doubt they will approach the new learning with the same resilience as our last.

Just a few reminders:

Our school trip to the Synagogue is happening on Monday morning and we will back in time for lunch

New spellings have gone out this week focussing on the statutory spelling required in year 5

New homework packs have also gone out – can I please ask you to support your children to do this and to bring it in on time every Friday

I hope you have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs Croucher
