Art Week

What a half term we have had in year 5! We have had so much fun and learnt so much and I am extremely proud of every single person in the class, for the hard work and determination they have displayed. This week, as normal, we have been super busy in the classroom finishing off some of the units of work. I have been particularly impressed with our literacy work and the writing that has been produced. The class have come such a long way already and it has been really promising to see.

We have also this week been busy with our netball house competition, which gave the children an opportunity to go against other houses in netball matches and shooting drills. A special well done to Bulbourne who one the year 5 competition.

This week also featured our art lessons, where we looked at using water colours. We used our inspiration from the French painter Henri Rousseau, to help us create our own jungle ‘surprise’ painting. I was very impressed with the level of skill and the effort made by all the children.

It was lovely to see so many of you at parents evening this week, and I hope you shared the children’s success with them afterwards. I hope you all have a lovely and restful half term, and I look forward to welcoming them all back on the 31st October.
