Autumn 2 – 5th November

I hope everyone had a restful half term and enjoyed the break. Year 3 have worked really well this week and they have settled back into school life even more enthusiastically than Autumn one.

This week we started our new units in geography and science. In geography we are learning about earthquakes and volcanoes this week we looked at the earths four layers by dissecting an apple. The children really understood the four layers of the earth through this experience and were able to identify and label the layers confidently.

In science we kick started our science unit on rocks superbly. The children worked scientifically by making careful observations of the rocks provided and they then thought carefully about classifying and grouping the rocks.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
Enjoy the fireworks, stay safe and happy Diwali!
