A very busy couple of weeks.

The children have throughly enjoyed learning about volcanoes and especially enjoyed making their own volcanic eruption. The children have learned about the structure of a volcano and they have also used the atlases to identify famous volcanoes and learnt about the ring of fire. Next week we will be learning a bit more about Earthquakes.

In science this half term the children have been learning about rocks. This week the children learned about the fossilisation process and to help with their understanding of how fossils are formed they made their own chocolate fossil.

The children continue to impress me with how hard they have been working since moving up to year 3. They are all showing determination and resilience. In literacy next week we are reaching the final point of writing our own non-chronological report. The children worked extremely hard this week to plan out their writing using a variety of adjectives. Watch this space next week for some fantastic final pieces of their writing.

Have a wonderful weekend all,

Miss Hurrell
