  • Excellent writers!
This week the children have been working really hard in literacy. We have been focusing on the book, Dr Xargle’s book of Earth Hounds. This is a narrative about an alien teaching his alien students all about Earth Hounds which are dogs on earth. They spoke about their appearance, hobbies, diet and habitat. From this, the children have been planning their own non-chronological report all about aliens. They are a teacher teaching human students all about aliens! The children have come up with their own alien and have organised their work into devises such as appearance, diet, hobbies, habitat and ...
  • Happy new year!
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas making happy memories with loved ones. This week the children have worked incredibly hard in all areas of the curriculum. In geography this term we are learning about Europe and its environmental regions. The children went on a scavenger hunt and used an atlas to help identify countries within Europe. Also this term in PSHE the children are focusing on ‘dreams and goals’. Our first lesson focused on how some people may find certain things challenging and that they may have to tackle situations in different ways. The children were able ...
  • Christmas is here…
Today was deco day! The children had a great day decorating baubles, wooden ornaments to put on the tree, making Christmas cards and advent calendars and all things Christmassy! Thank you so much to all the parents that came and helped, the children really enjoyed your company and so did I! The classroom is looking very magical and the countdown to Christmas is on!! Have a fabulous weekend all! Miss Hurrell
  • Children in Need!
Thank you to every single one of you for your kind donations towards Children in Need! The children got fit with Pudsey and had some lovely art designs for a new Pudsey bear! Also this week the children have worked extremely hard in their literacy! They have been learning all about prepositional phrases and how they can use them to add detail to their writing. Finally, the children continue to enjoy learning all about the Stone Age to the Iron Age. This week, they became hunter gatherers and experienced how humans lived in the Stone Age era. Don’t forget the ...
  • Lots of fun this week!
This week in science we started our new unit on light. We started with classifying pictures under the headings source of light or not a source of light. We then discussed the big question what is light? To help with our understanding we put on our scientist jackets and worked scientifically through an investigation. We came to the conclusion that we need light in order to see and that darkness is the absence of light. In history this week, we made our own toilet paper timeline to help with our understanding of how far ago the Stone Age and Iron ...
