Happy Friday Year 2!

This week in Year 2 we have become gardeners and started our new unit in science on Plants. The children looked at seeds and then discussed whether a seed is living and non-living and then we planted our own sunflower seeds. We will be planting a lot more so watch this space for some wonderful photographs. We also became compass readers and went on a scavenger hunt using our own compass rose. We then made our own treasure map and guided our partners through the maze to the treasure using directional language such as North, South, East, West, forward, up and a lot more.

The children also had their first computing session with the wonderful new computers. The children absolutely loved using the new resources and really enjoyed the touch screen effect which they used to research some interesting things such as our senses, habitats and a lot more. We all cannot wait to use them again next week!

The children have once again worked so hard this week and I have been so impressed with their enthusiasm and engagement since coming back. I am looking forward to a wonderful week again next week and we will post a lot of photographs of our planting, map making and some wonderful pieces of Literacy writing.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
