A very inspiring week!

This week in year 2 we were very lucky to have a wonderful zoom meeting with Baroness Floella Benjamin and I must say the children and myself, were so inspired by her words and encouragement. We left the meeting feeling very proud of who we are and very much inspired by her beautiful words of wisdom.
We have also been working super hard in Geography making our own Town maps and made some wonderful keys so it was clear for anyone to read our map. We looked closely at the difference between human and physical features and designed some wonderful towns.
As computer researchers this week we used the lovely new computers to google some interesting facts about Trinidad and what animals we may find and food etc. We then presented our work as a mind map and then shared our research to each other. The children thoroughly enjoyed researching and finding lots of interesting new facts.
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

We have also been busy in Maths this week starting our new unit on Fractions. We used play dough to help us find half of a number.
We have also been busy learning how to play the glockenspiels to our focus song this week “The Friendship Song”.
