7 October – editing and publishing

This week has seen the final push to edit and publish the children’s non-chronological reports about an imaginary island. I cannot describe how hard they have all worked, using their creativity to invent a new country and then applying their literacy skills such as accurate punctuation, noun phrases and interesting openers. Their final versions are now written up and are proudly on display in our classroom as well as in their literacy books. They are very excited to show you their work at parents’ evening in a couple of weeks.

In our reading practice lessons, we have continued to look at ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ by Maurice Sendak and have been practising our retrieval, vocabulary and inference skills.

Finally, in PE, the children have continued to build their ball skills, practising accurate catching skills on the field.

We hope you have a restful weekend!
