29 April – Pond Dipping

Today has been filled with much excitement. We have been back to the pond to notice the seasonal changes and to find evidence of lifecycles. The children found a huge range of pond dwellers including a number of newts! We observed carefully before returning everything to their homes back in the pond (photos below). In PE, the children have been enjoying their time with Mrs Hutchings and have been practising straddle levers and a wide variety of rolls with the children focusing on pointed fingers and toes, controlling their movements and finally working together to create short routines. Problem solving and reasoning is the focus of maths lessons presently and we have explored strategies for organising our work and for finding the best starting point when tackling a problem.

I hope you all have a lovely bank holiday!
Warmest wishes,
Mrs Hunter
