23 June – Position, direction and helicopters

This week, the children have worked really hard to describe position and direction using language such as clockwise, anti-clockwise, quarter turn, half turn etc. They have navigated around maps and rooms to practise these skills, making links with their knowledge of telling the time and fractions. In RE, we have been thinking about responsibility and learning about one of the Islamic ‘Five Pillars’ – Zakat (giving to charity). Our unit in Science is currently plants. The children have been thinking about seed dispersal and why it is important. They made paper ‘helicopter seeds’ to demonstrate how some seeds can be carried on the wind.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
Mrs Hunter
