22 April – A new term!

I hope you all had a super Easter break. We were certainly lucky with the weather! It was lovely to see the children back this week and it absolutely feels like summer because we are finally playing on the field at break times! This half term, we are reading Oliver Jeffers’ “How to catch a star” and will be writing in a range of genres including recounts and narratives. In maths, we are continuing to look at both time and fractions. Time is always a challenging concept so any opportunities you can find at home to encourage your child to practise telling the time to 5 minutes would really help. Our geography unit will focus on seas and coasts and in science we will be exploring animals, including humans.

The children’s new homework pack was sent home with them today. At the back is the latest medium term plan, providing an overview of all our learning this half term, as well as suggestions for how you can support your child at home.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Hunter
