As part of our geography unit, we have been looking at the weather and climate of Kenya and comparing it to the UK. The children looked at a range of photos and made inferences about the weather before studying temperature, rainfall and sunshine charts. They then created a weather report based on their findings. There are a few photos below!
The children have been working incredibly hard during our maths lessons on multiplication and division. Do encourage your child to practise his/her 2x, 10x, 5x and 3x tables throughout the week. Fluency in this area is ...
In gymnastics this week, the children have been practising a range of rolls. They consolidated their knowledge of a teddy bear roll, forward roll and backward roll. The children showed great resilience at the more challenging rolls and were really supportive of each other. There are some photos below! In PSHE, we considered how to break a goal down into manageable steps. Using the example of memorising a poem, the children created ‘ladders to success’, identifying the small steps needed to achieve the final goal.

Our first PE lesson today focused on gymnastics. The children have been perfecting their jumps both on the floor and off equipment (photos below). The last week or so of term was given over to ‘DT Week’ and Year 2 built on their sewing skills from year 1, increasing their knowledge of stitches resulting in the production of some fantastic hand puppets (photos below). They showed fantastic determination and resilience ...
