2nd December – Deco Day
This week in Maths we have been looking at 2D and 3D shape. The children have been able to recognise and name them as well as sort them and being able to find the odd one out in patterns. Why not see if your child can name some objects when you are out and about. E.g. What shape is the coffee jar?
In History we have been continuing with our curriculum project of toys. We have been looking at how books also change over time, especially the front covers. Year 1 used their comparing skills to look at similarities and differences between an old edition of Alice in Wonderland book and a contemporary one which you would be able to go and purchase from the shops today.

The highlight of the week has of course got to be Deco Day! The children came into school with an air of excitement about them. We have had a day jam packed with Christmas activities. Thank you to all the adults who came and helped out. We hope you didn’t get too sticky or covered in glitter! Hopefully you will have enjoyed your child coming home with their calendars and Christmas cards. They have worked really hard on them. There is also a little something we made in the afternoon which you will be able to purchase at the Christmas Fair on 9th December 5.30-8pm. I hope to see you there.

Have a great weekend.
