1 July – Sports day, seeds and telephones
It was fantastic to see you all at Sports Day and I was so proud of all the children. They tried very hard in all their races and were incredibly kind in their support for each other . This finished off a very busy week in year 2, where the children have also dissected kidney bean seeds to see how seeds start to grow. They then planted seeds in hydroponic bags to test the theory that plants do not always need soil to germinate. In history, they explored the invention of the telephone, looking at models across the years and putting them in chronological order. They made their own telephones out of paper cups and wires and were amazed at how far sound could travel along the wire (our wires were 20 metres long!). There are lots of photos below!
Warmest wishes,
Mrs Hunter
