A week full of diary writing, Kandinsky and reading in unusual places.

As usual, all children this week have worked super hard and I am very impressed with their continuous positive attitude towards learning. Here are just a few snippets of what we have been doing this week.

This week in Year 2’s classroom at home, we have been building up to a piece of diary writing based on the video “The lighthouse”. We learned to write our pieces in the past tense with lots of expanded noun phrases and conjunctions to make our writing even better. We worked super hard planning, proof reading against the success criteria and editing. Here are some snippets of the children’s wonderful work.

This week we also looked at a famous artist Wassily Kandinsky and made our own artwork based on one of his paintings Concentric Circles. We used lots of colour and different shapes to make a replica of his wonderful artwork.

This week I also set year 2 the challenge of sending in some pictures of themselves reading in unusual places. Here are some fantastic ones from this week.
