How to wash a woolly mammoth

This week in Year 3 we have begun our Literacy unit on Instructions with the introduction of a new text – How to wash a woolly mammoth! As many of us have never had to wash a woolly mammoth before we were keen to read the instructions about how it is done! This will be our text for the next two weeks while we practice how to write our own version of the instructions using time conjunctions and imperative verbs. So far we have enjoyed following a set of instructions for making a paper snowflake and then evaluating them and ordering instructions correctly using numbered steps.

Today we painted our Stone Age jewellery and once it is dry we will construct our necklaces and bracelets. More photographs of our painting are now on the website 🙂

Next week we will continue to work on instructions in Literacy and Multiplication and Division in Maths. Spellings will be coming home tomorrow for the last time before Christmas.

Have a lovely weekend
