This week most of the children have spent much of their learning through play time outside. Each morning one group will help Mrs Pepper set up the outside area, they have loved taking ownership of their environment and are always keen to share what has been set up with the rest of the class. This week we had a ‘yellow underwater safari park’ in our water tray, such fantastic imagination!
It’s been another fun filled week in Reception. Today we had our first visit down to Florence Longman House. We also had a special visit from our Year 6 buddies who ‘interviewed’ us about our favourite things ahead of the Buddy assembly next Friday.
It has been another very busy yet wonderful week in our Reception family. The children have been practising their PE skills this week ready for Sports Day. All the children have shown an excellent Growth Mindset, even when finding some of the activities challenging. In our circle time sessions, we have talked about “Not giving up, and keeping on trying” if we find something hard to do.
Have a look at our wonderful Sports day!
This week the children had a wonderful day at Paradise Wildlife Park. The children enjoyed sharing all the knowledge that they learned about dinosaurs and wild animals. The children really enjoyed the talk about, feathers, fur and scales. I am so impressed by how sensibly the children behaved and how engaged they were learning about all the different animals! A highlight of our visit was seeing a tiger having a swim and coming really close to the glass to say hello to us. Thank you to all the adults that came with us you were all amazing and I ...
This week the children have shown a great interest in dinosaurs, on Monday we set off to be Palaeontologists. We went outside with our equipment which consisted of different sizes of brushes and shovels to find any fossils of dinosaurs. We could not believe how many fossils we found on our school grounds, from teeth to leg bones!
